infinidb 4.6 install : user_installer.sh: not found

infinidb 4.6 install : user_installer.sh: not found

Hello ,

 

I am trying infiniDB for a customer,

I follow the instruction about setting an environment with 1 UM and 1 PM

downloaded the tar file to the PM
extract it. 

install the 4 files

also copied all 4 of them to /root

 

run the postconfigure

I have 2 m2.xlarge amazon servers - with a ping between them . 

 

i run the full install instruction .

when i get to the last phase i get : /usr/local/Calpont/bin/user_installer.sh: not found

the install log is empty 

 

do i need to install the 4 file at all the servers by my self?

because when i go to 

ubuntu@ip-10-74-176-98:/usr/local/Calpont/bin$ 
i see the file : when i try to open it or run it i get:
 
ubuntu@ip-10-74-176-98:/usr/local/Calpont/bin$ sudo ./user_installer.sh
sudo: unable to execute ./user_installer.sh: No such file or directory
 
i tried to make it exe . by sudo by chmod u+x 
but there are more sh files there 
 

please help :)

 

 

 

There are 2 options when configuring the System Server Type: single and multi

 

  'single'  - Single-Server install is used when there will only be 1 server configured

              on the system. It's a shorter install procedure used for POC testing, as an example.

              It can also be used for production systems, if the plan is to stay single-server.

 

  'multi'   - Multi-Server install is used when you want to configure multiple servers now or

              in the future. With Multi-Server install, you can still configure just 1 server

              now and add on addition servers/modules in the future. This is used more for

              production installs.

 

Select the type of System Server install [1=single, 2=multi] (2) > 2

 

Installing on Amazon System (EC2 or VPC services) [y,n] (n) >

 

===== Setup System Module Type Configuration =====

 

There are 2 options when configuring the System Module Type: separate and combined

 

  'separate' - User and Performance functionality on separate servers.

 

  'combined' - User and Performance functionality on the same server

 

Select the type of System Module Install [1=separate, 2=combined] (1) > 1

 

 

Enter System Name (myinfinidb) >

 

Enter the Local Module Name or exit [pmx,exit] (pm1) >

 

===== Setup Storage Configuration =====

 

----- Setup High Availability Data Storage Mount Configuration -----

 

There are 2 options when configuring the storage: internal or external

 

  'internal' -    This is specified when a local disk is used for the dbroot storage

                  or the dbroot storage directories are manually mounted externally

                  but no High Availability Support is required.

 

  'external' -    This is specified when the dbroot directories are externally mounted

                  and High Availability Failover Support is required.

 

Select the type of Data Storage [1=internal, 2=external] (1) > 1

 

===== Setup Memory Configuration =====

 

NOTE: Using the default setting for 'NumBlocksPct' at 70%

      Setting 'TotalUmMemory' to 50% of total memory

===== InfiniDB SNMP-Trap Process Check  =====

 

InfiniDB is packaged with an SNMP-Trap process.

If the system where InfiniDB is being installed already has an SNMP-Trap process

running, then you have the option of disabling InfiniDB's SNMP-Trap process.

Not having the InfiniDB SNMP-Trap process will affect the

generation of InfiniDB alarms and associated SNMP traps.

Please reference the Calpont InfiniDB Installation Guide for

additional information.

 

InfiniDB SNMP-Trap process is disabled, would you like to enable it (y,n) [n] >

===== Setup the External Device Configuration =====

 

External Devices are devices like a storage array or a Ethernet Switch that can

be setup to be monitored by InfiniDB with a ping test. If device fails, InfiniDB

System Configuration is complete, System Installation is the next step.

Next step is to enter the password to access the other Servers.

This is either your password or you can default to using a ssh key

If using a password, the password needs to be the same on all Servers.

First off, thanks for trying InfiniDB. Lets get some more information..

 

You doing a install as root user or non-root user? I see that you refer sudo, but you are trying to install in /use/local/Calpont and place the packages in the /root directory.

    a. If root user, no need to use any sudo commands.

        Packages should automaticly get installed in /usr/local/Calpont

    b. If non-root user, make sure you perform the setup for a non-root install. Check the InfiniDB Install Guide for that.

        Packages need to be installed under the non-root account, example /home/infinidb.

        run post-install --installdir=/home/infinidb/calpont

       follow instructions from post-install to run postConfigure

 

So for starters, lets see how you are trying to install..
