More Descriptive schema errors for migrating

The default mysql engine provides a hint at least as to where you messed up with your schema definition if it doesn't load, however as of 1.0.4 the idbmysql cli only gives.

mysql> CREATE TABLE `song` (
-> `id` bigint unsigned NOT NULL
-> ) ENGINE=InfiniDB DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8;

ERROR 138 (HY000): The syntax or the data type(s) is not supported by InfiniDB. Please check the InfiniDB syntax guide for supported syntax or data types.

So you have to work the schema line by line which is painful at the very least. Is it correct to say the infinidb engine doesn't support the unsigned version of bigint (if so i didn't see it in the datatypes documentation)? This doesn't make sence to waste have the space for a large id when the data source that will populate the DW is monotonic and starting at 0.

Thanks,
Leif

Hey Leif, thanks for downloading and checking InfiniDB out.

We appreciated your input and your concerns. We are always striving to make the product better and as it matures, syntax and other error messages will evolve along with the product.

I would also like to vote for improving error messages, it would help a lot especially new starters :)

+1 for this feature and ongoing effort. I am trying to get InfiniDB up and running and quite often I hit dead end with weird errors or crashes which causes me to wonder. This product is under heavy development and looks very promising, but because of that Administrators should know whats happening and why things don't work or report problem.

Errors I experienced so far:
ERROR 122 (HY000): CAL0001: Create table Failed: DDLPackageProcessor::writeSysTableMetaData WE: Error updating calpont.systable: a BRM Begin copy error. [BRM error status: in READ-ONLY mode]
Others
[ul]
[li]importing with cpimport errors[/li]
[li]create table issues - could not figure out which data types are not supported. InfiniDB will just report invalid syntax.[/li]
[/ul]

Sidenote : Please provide better online documentation, reading PDF may be good for Enterprise sales guys, but we, Admins prefer to have docs similar to MySQL, MongoDB. These are great examples how easy is to get their products up and running.
