I very much hope that InfiniDB support the blob and clob types of data in the next version.
BLOB and CLOB datatypes do not generally lend themselves well to data warehouse applications, which is what InfiniDB is designed for. You can't filter by them and you can't aggregate them. You can always build an application that reads a filename from a varchar column and uses that to store and manipulate a binary object.
Some data, like the geography information data, they also have filters(RTree). Because the length of this data is not fixed, the need to store the blob or clob type. Some data like Image or other also need this type too. So I think there are very much need.
Inforbright begin to support the data type blob.
I think we also need to consider this issue.
