ddl-scan.cpp: No such file or directory

Hi everybody,

I'm moving my first steps with InfiniDB trying to compile the infinidb-0.9.5.0 sources get from launchpad on Ubuntu 9.04. After a bit spent on finding all the right prerequisite libraries I was able to start my compilation. Unfortunately after 10 mins of successfull compilation the process stopped and gives me the following error

Making all in ddlpackage
make[3]: Entering directory `/usr/src/calpont-infinidb-0.9.5.0/dbcon/ddlpackage'

make: *** [all] Error 2

I verified in /usr/src/calpont-infinidb-0.9.5.0/dbcon/ddlpackage that the file ddl-scan.cpp doesn't exists at all. Is there anyone out there that can help me clearing this issue so that I can terminate my compilation successfully?

Regards

Sergio

Re:ddl-scan.cpp: No such file or directory

Thanks for you download and input.

It looks like the package bison and/or flex is missing which is causing the compile
error.
Please check that all of the following packages are installed.

autoconf
bison
flex
g++
gcc
libboost-thread1.34.1
libboost-thread-dev
libreadline5-dev
libtool
libxml2-dev
make

Re:ddl-scan.cpp: No such file or directory

Hi David

this is the set of libraries that I installed as pre-requisites

bison libmcpp0 libmcpp-dev libboost-dev libxml++2.6-dev

I also set the following compiler switches

export CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu"
export CFLAGS="-mcpu=i686 -march=i686 -O3 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer"
export CXX=gcc
export CPPFLAGS="-U_FORTIFY_SOURCE"

I'll check with your list and I will install the eventually missing libraries. Then I'll let you know. Tell me your opinion about the compiler switches I set.

Cheers

Sergio

Re:ddl-scan.cpp: No such file or directory

Sorry David,

I forget to say that during the ./configure execution I get a lot of messages more or less like this (I copy here just one for your reference)

config.status: creating ddlproc/Makefile
config.status: WARNING: 'ddlproc/Makefile.in' seems to ignore the --datarootdir setting

Could that be a source of possible problems during the compilation process?

Regards

Re:ddl-scan.cpp: No such file or directory

Glad to here you have it successfully compiled.

The configure warning is normal.

The compiler flags look OK. But please let us know if you have further issues.

Re:ddl-scan.cpp: No such file or directory

Thanks David,

No I don't have any further issues. I think that in the next few days I'll write a post on my blog summarizing the process. Maybe someone else needs to know the right flow of operations so it would be useful to have it clearly written down

If you think it could be interesting I can link the post here in the forum.

Kind regards

Sergio
